Who is the HR Manager?

The HR Manager oversees all aspects of an organization’s Human Resources department. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, and managing employees and developing policies and procedures related to employee benefits, compensation, and labor relations. The HR Manager also liaises between the organization and its employees, ensuring company practices and policies are followed.

HR Manager Roles and Responsibilities Include:

1. Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business strategy.

2. Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.

3. Developing and implementing policies on working conditions, performance management, disciplinary procedures and absence management.

4. Overseeing recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.

5. Supporting the development and implementation of training and development strategies.

6. Analyzing employee survey data and identifying areas needing enhancement.

7. Monitoring and evaluating employee performance and providing coaching and guidance when needed.

8. Dealing with employee issues, such as disciplinary procedures and grievances.

9. Maintaining employee records and preparing HR documents.

10. Monitoring and ensuring legal compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

HR Manager Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

2. SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.

3. Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR policies and procedures, and best practices.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to build relationships with employees, managers, and external vendors.

6. Experience managing recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance issues.

7. Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
